Jordan Springs East Village Centre is a greenfield master planned suburb prepared as a design competition entry on invitation by Coplex and Lend Lease. It’s a mixed-use development which ranges between two to six storeys. The ground floor consists of a supermarket, medical centre, pharmacy amongst other specialty stores. The first floor consists of a 180 child childcare centre. The development also includes two-storey live work style townhouses, residential apartments and communal spaces such as a gym and swim school.
It’s designed to modulate in height, to create a human scale to the village centre and a variety of forms and interest. The village centre encapsulates the following design principles in its structure and layout: connectivity, activity and character.
The residential development responds well to the topography and greater urban context of the neighbourhood and the desired future character of the locality. The proposal consists of a total of 20 apartments which are generous in size, aligning with the typologies and current living patterns within the areas of Pymble.
A careful composition of massing and detailing, building elements, textures, materials and colours contributes to the building’s seamless and subtle integration into the surrounding scenery. The elevations are varied in expression and designed primarily to respond to sun, views, setbacks and the site. The building has a modern and clean aesthetic, colour and material selections of light natural tones to create transitions between inside and outside.
The luxury residence on Cherry Street, proposes a two storey dwelling with many quality amenities, basement parking, a swimming pool and the retention of the tennis court.
The proposed dwelling is sensitive to the landscape setting and architectural theme of Cherry Street. The selected material palette features sandstone walls, steel beams and board formed concrete with a terracotta tiled roof and zinc metal cladding to the second floor. The design, schedule of finishes, material palette and setbacks applied are sensitive to the local context, and add value as a development to the streetscape.
An upcoming multi-unit residential development on Golf Avenue, comprising of one two-storey and three-storey buildings which include a mix of three- and four-bedroom apartments.
The proposed development adopts a highly sculptural building form composed with splayed balconies oriented towards the ocean views to the east, while creating visual interest within the streetscape. The form also responds carefully to the need for privacy as well as outlook.
Massing and façade details are designed to respond to both the desired character of the area and the existing context. Furthermore colour and material selections have been made to create transitions between inside and outside, allowing the development to add value to its surrounding neighbourhood.
